Website Design involves using a variety of techniques that are aimed at offering clarity, simplicity, speed and function to the client and the user. To achieve this, your website will be designed in a way that is pleasing to the eye, easy reading, easy to navigate and quick to download.
During the initial free consultation we will discuss what is right for both you and your clients, exploring all issues that relates to your requirements. To ensure your targets are met, the consultation will continue throughout the build of your website.
Each website that is designed by myself is written using modern XHTML & CSS coding and are validated using the W3C Markup Validation Service ensuring all websites are of top quality, ‘including meeting Disability Discrimination Act requirements, accessibility requirements, cross–browser compatibility and search optimisation’. Before starting the build of your website, it may be worth considering the following:
- An easy to remember domain name
- Choose a background that will allow the information to be shown clearly
- All pages should be eye catching, but easy to read
- Try not to display too much information on one page
- Any information that is to be shown should be written consistantly
- Choose a font style that will be browser friendly & easy to read
- Animated graphics & scrolling text are certainly eyecatching, but they do tend to annoy users
- Try to include at least one image on each page
Any image that you decide to use will need to be re–sized allowing quick download and I strongly recommend no use of frames, which will help search engines find your website.
