Digital Imaging

Digital Imaging can be used to enhance / manipulate your existing images and will have a large part to play in the creation of your website, logo, banner, letterhead and perhaps your business card.

I work with this technology on a daily basis, allowing me to keep in touch with developments in the industry and also allows me to keep my skills up to date.

A variety of imaging techniques can be used to create, enhance and / or manipulate any image that you wish to use. However, the concern here is to ensure that the images you use do not belong to someone else (i.e. copyright protected). It is very imortant that this rule is followed as using information that is copyright protected without the owners concent may lead to prosecution. Indeed, all images that have been used on the web sites that I have created, include either my own images or images that have been taken by the individual website owners.

Of course, using digital imaging does not stop in the creation of your website. Other options could include the repair of old photographs or enhancing existing photographs so they appear sharper, lighter or darker. A selection of possible imaging options are as follows:

  • Image creation, such as logo’s, banners, letterheads and montages
  • Lighten, darken or sharpen existing images
  • adjust colouration on existing images
  • Crop or re–size existing images for website or printing purposes
  • Apply special effects, such as filters or layer styling
  • Remove dust, folds, scratches or tears from old photographs

Due to the nature of this service and the uncertainty that regards the amount of work that may be needed, costs will vary and can be negotiated during the initial consultation (the normal cost is £15.00 per hour).
